PASPCR 2012 meeting in Park City-UT on September 19-22, 2012

Please join the Pan American Society for Pigment Cell Research in the beautiful mountains of Deer Valley, Utah, for our annual meeting on Sept. 19-22, 2012.  It promises to be a lively, fun-filled and educational conference. It will be held in a secluded, yet luxurious setting at the St. Regis Hotel.  We have a number of exciting faculty including Roger Hanlon, of NOVA and Science Friday fame and many other experts in the field! 6th ASPCR Conference in Australia in 2013 - Make your plans to visit beautiful Australia!

The  Asian Society for Pigment Cell Research (ASPCR) will  be  hosting  the 6th ASPCR Conference (after  the  5th ASPCR  in India  in November 2012), from 17th-19th May 2013, in Sydney , Australia.  It  is the  first  time  an ASPCR  conference  is  held  in Australia. We  are  joining hands  with  the Australasian Society for Dermatology Research (ASDR) to organize this  conference, as a  joint ASPCR-ASDR Meeting.  The Australasian College  of Dermatology Annual Meeting will  be held  just after  the ASPCR-ASDR Conference, so  some  of  you (Dermatologists)  may  wish  to  attend  that  meeting as well.

Make  this  an occasion  to  see  the  best  of Asian/Australasian Pigment Cell, Melanoma  and Dermatology Research  and   also  see  the  beautiful  city of  Sydney and  beyond. Many world renowned scientists  and clinicians  have already confirmed their participation.

New Pubcast released for Pigment Cell & Melanoma Research

A new pubcast has been released for the Pigment Cell & Melanoma Research scientific journal, associated to the International Federation of Pigment Cell Societies (IFPCS). This new video refers to the work of Caroline Le Poole’s laboratory (Department of Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology, Oncology Institute, Loyola University, Maywood, IL, USA) on “HSP70i is a critical component of the immune response leading to vitiligo” by Mosenson et al., an article that was published in Pigment Cell & Melanoma Research, Volume 25, Issue 1, pages 88–98, January 2012.

Prof. Alain Taïeb, Chair of the 21st IPCC, Bordeaux, France, 21-24 September 2011

Yesterday, September 24, the 21st IPCC finished with the moving song “Black or White“, by Michael Jackson.  This was a really nice end for this conference, that progressed with a great success in attendancy (>540 delegates registered) over the past week. The meeting was particularly successful thanks to the excellent scientific program that the Chair of the meeting, Prof. Alain Taïeb, and his team put together. The Organizers of the 21st IPCC must be praised for this memorable superb meeting, where the latest scientific achievements of our pigment cell community were discussed and most adequately mixed with the tasty products of the surrounding vineyards.

At the International Federation of Pigment Cell Societies we are already preparing our next meeting. Prof. Boon-Kee Goh (ASPCR) will be the Chair of the 22nd IPCC, that will be held in Singapore in September 2014. At the closing ceremony of IPCC-2011, Prof. Boon-Kee Goh presented the highlights of his country and the spectacular resources existing in Singapore. You are all invited to attend the next meeting of the International Federation of Pigment Cell Societies, IPCC-2014, in Singapore.
