Do White Blood Cells Make Cancer Deadly?
Friday, January 16th, 2009Previous PASPCR President, Prof. John Pawelek, proposes that tumors start to spread, or metastasize, after fusing with white blood cells. His interesting theory has been now explained in a recent article published in Scientific American (January 2009 issue). Quoting this article, it says: “The ability to spread underlies the killing power of cancer. The process occurs, John Pawelek thinks, when tumor cells fuse with white blood cells—an idea that, if right, could yield new therapies“.
