Job Title : Basic Science Principal Investigator, Research Core Director

Description : The Hampton University Skin of Color Research Institute (HUSCRI), a newly established research institute, is seeking an outstanding principal investigator to assume leadership of the HUSCRI research program as its Principal Investigator, Research Core Director. The successful candidate will be hired at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with experience in the area of cutaneous biology and specific interests in wound healing or pigment cell research. He/She will be expected to create and lead an innovative and aggressive research strategy that is harmonious with the mission and vision of Hampton University.  He/She will have the opportunity to initiate, foster, and grow collaborative relationships with investigators and neighboring institutions including Eastern Virginia Medical School and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. Newly outfitted HUSCRI laboratories will be housed in a 20,000-square- foot biomedical research building on the campus of Hampton University.

Requirements:
• Successful candidates must have either a PhD or MD/PhD
• Strong publication record in peer reviewed journals
• Record of demonstrated leadership
• History of success in attaining federally funded grants in areas of interest preferred
